Upcoming Trips!

Hi everyone! Next week is a busy week for our junior high students. On Wednesday, October 1st, Grades 6 - 9 students will be bussed out to Deer Meadows for a cross-country run. We will be boarding the bus at 8:15 AM and returning at 3:15 PM. Please note this is after the regular departure of the school buses, so you will need to make alternate arrangements to pick up your child when they return!

On Friday, October 3rd, Grades 6 - 9 students will be going to JJ Collett Natural Area for a science-based field trip. We will be boarding the bus at approximately 10:15 AM and returning at 2:15 PM, so students will still be able to catch the bus to come home at the end of the day. If you'd like some more information on JJ Collett, check our their website at http://www.jjcollett.com/

Permission forms have been sent home for both of these trips with students, so please ensure they are signed and sent back to school by Tuesday, September 30th! Students must come prepared for these trips by wearing appropriate shoes, bringing a jacket, a bag lunch, and a water bottle.

Chromebooks...Finally!

Chromebooks have finally been deployed throughout the Jr. High.  Several students in grades 8 and 9 have participated in the parent purchase program, while students in grades 6 and 7 have been assigned a unit through the school.  All students are demonstrating solid digital citizenship skills, making this transition a smooth sail.  Look for blog entries to increase as students settle into their new devices.  Also, please remember that the calendar on your right is a great place to learn about assignment deadline and to discover what's happening in and around the school.

Getting Settled into Jr. High

It has been a great first few weeks here in the Jr. High.  Apart from getting used to new classrooms, new teachers, and new routines, we are all settling into the learning process.

Students have been getting comfortable with their timetables and adjusting to new teaching styles.  They have also had some fun.

This is a collaborative activity where students had to 'save Sam' by working with limited tools and no verbal communication...tricky but fun.
